A 30-year-old female asked:
The advice from the cdc is that the public don't need to wear face masks to protect from covid-19 as the masks are ineffective in protecting against the virus. therefore, why are caregivers of people who are infected being advised to wear masks?

COVID 19: CDC recommendation has changed. It is now recommended that everyone wear a mask in public. It is that law in my state. Wearing a face covering or mask will help protect others from any germs the person wearing the mask may have. This is improtant since COVID 19 can be transmitted before one has symptoms.
