Will taking antibiotics clear a tooth infection and as long as the area stays clean it wont come back it will it come back after the antibiotics are finished? i had a root canal done on the tooth few years back not sure if i need to do another

Antibiotics: Antibiotics will not "clear" a tooth infection. They will minimize the symptoms until the tooth can be treated. Even if you had root canal tx, it may be another infection, it may be a cracked tooth, or a host of other issues. Please see your dentist.

Antibiotics: Antibiotics will control the spread of infection for as long as you take them, but will not "cure" a damaged tooth. Could be due to missed canal, fracture, breakdown of the seal, etc. The advent of CBCT and Endo microscopes have changed the face of root canal treatment dramatically in just the past few years. You should be consulting with a specialist Endodontist as tot the viability of the toot
