A member asked:

Cardiologists:my lv diastolic function was not measured or recorded in echocardiogram for 2019 results of normal echo.previously 2013 mild 2016 mild lvdf.ejection fraction 58%. cardiologist said as don't have hypertension no need to repeat echo.true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diastolic dysfunctio: I disagree. Other conditions can cause left ventricular diastolic dysfunction with normal ejection fraction and include cardiac amyloidosis, diabetes, coronary artery disease, obesity, lack of adequate physical activity, early hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or aortic valve stenosis. However your echo is reassuring. Even without these conditions I recommend a follow-up echocardiogram in a year or two.
