What can a mass on a 1 year old lung be? he did not have it before and it showed up on his xrays.

Possibilities: I would really need to see the x-ray & more information to begin the process. Some forms of pneumonia can look like a mas. The thymus, a normal part of the immune system can appear on as a mas. Cystic changes in the lungs, enlarged lymph nodes or other abnormal growths (cancer) would be other possibilities.
