Podiatrist: Consult a podiatrist for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up. I assume there has been no recent injury. Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain which is usually worse when first getting on your feet in the morning.

Plantar fasciitis : The most common problem of the heel is pain on bottom of the heel or plantar fasciitis. Taking anti inflammatory medicine like Aleve or ibuprofen can help. Message and icing can also be affective. The most effective is a custom orthotic. This will help support the plantar fascia and allow to heal.
