I had a mri of my left knee done. the results came back there is mildly thickened appearance of the itb with subtle adjacent edema most prominent within the lateral supracondylar region. what does this mean??

Knee: The itb is the illiotibial band which runs from your hip to your knee and it is what tightens to make the lateral aspect of your quadricep firm. It inserts on the lateral supracondylar region which is the area that you can palpate just above your lateral epicondyle or bump on the outter aspect of your knee. The MRI shows evidence of inflammation.
