Artery blocked: I am assuming you have already been checked for a blood clot. If not this should be done first. The lack of hair and swelling sound like a vascular problem. You should have arterial Doppler or brachial index performed. This is a problem which can be related to polycythemia. The next step is neurologic testing. If you have lost hair in both legs there are endocrine causes
