I've had terrible pain that started at the base of the right side of my head that eventually spread down my neck and back. it's moved to the left base of my skull and my whole head hurts. i still have pain on the right side of my neck as well as xray?

You may want to massage the muscles to see if that helps. If you have fever seek medical care urgently. The pain may be tension in the muscles, but other things could cause it including bleeds in the brain, so if you have changes in your strength or mentation go to emergency room.
