Usually creams: To treat mild to moderate eczema, many people use hydrocortisone cream (a thin coat on the rash, twice a day for 1-2 weeks). It is OTC, sold at most stores, and works well. A daily moisturizing cream (Cetaphil, CeraVe, Eucerin, Aveeno...) used 2-4 times a day helps to heal eczema and prevent flare-ups. Some people avoid creams with lanolin, aloe, or fragrances due to sensitivity to ingredients.
