Discoloration: Whenever the skin becomes inflamed or irritated it will heal lighter in color or darker in color. This is because the melanocytes produce pigment and transfer their pigment granules to the keratinocytes. Usually the color evens our after a season or two. The best treatment is to prevent the inflammation from the eczema by the use of topical medications prescribed by your doctor or dermatologist.
