High bilirubin blood test 2.9 and high hematocrit 53% these are last lab. from 3 month high bilirubin, high hematocrit, high hemoglobin 17.2. hemoglobin now is normal 16.9. could it be polythcemia vera or cancer. can high hematocrit increase bilirubi?

Need to examine: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, there may be more than one issue. Elevated bilirubin may be due to benign issue like Gilbert. The high hemoglobin warrants evaluation by a hematologist. Wish you good health!
