My hemoglobin is 2.9 and it will not rise. my lab results said rare nucleated rbc seen. polychromasia present microcytes present. hypochromasia present. anisocytosis present, is that a blood cancer?

No it is not cancer. It is most likely a disorder of the Red cells, what is called Hemolytic Anemia, a condition in which your Red cells(RBCs) are easily damaged. There is medical treatment for this condition . But you need to consult a Hematologist-a specialist in Blood disorders.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it is improbable that your hemoglobin is as low as 2.9. It is not feasible to provide an opinion without examining you and access to all the test results. Wish you good health!
