12 month old baby swallowed an earing?

Can show his doctor: If a baby or toddler swallows a small object, his doctor will want to know what the object looks like. For earrings, there are two and babies usually don't eat both, so the parent can show the other earring to the doctor. The doctor might order an x-ray if the swallowed object looks dangerous, but usually the object comes out in the poop. If a battery or a magnet is swallowed, it must be removed.

Some basics : If it was small & made it into the stomach(kid drinks fluids okay) it is likely to pass in the stool in 3-5 days. If it has rough or sharp edges you could feed the kid stewed okra & this can provide a protective coat around the object & soften transit. If the kid seems to have abdominal cramping/pain I would have it evaluated.
