Dermatitis:: Rashes are variable in presentation & cause. Contact dermatitis happens when the skin has been in contact with an irritant - anything from the metal in some jewelry, to the oil on certain plants (like poison ivy). Fungal infections can happen anywhere on the body (tinea corporis). Chicken pox (varicella virus) can start in one spot too. Many possibilities, but no way to diagnose in this setting.
