Best to see your GP: There are many conditions which could cause a painful bump. Less worrisome causes include things like a blister or an inflamed cyst. A lesion from Herpes (HSV) or Shingles could also cause a painful bump, and both of those possibilities are more concerning, and would need a much different treatment than something like a cyst. I would recommend that you reach out to your primary care doctor.
