Let me explain: The higher the injury in the spinal cord the worst the results.

Arms : Because a injury to the cervical spinal cord would risk loss of respiration and cause paralysis of the arms and legs. A thoracic cord injury would only cause paralysis of the legs. Obviously still catastrophic.
