Basics: Honey from any source may contain botulism spores. In infants under 1 year of age their immature & slow moving gut may permit these spores to activate & produce toxin that can slow nerve activity. The most worrisome effect can be to stop breathing. After a year of age the human gut is considered mature enough that this does not happen. Type/brand/method of intake is not a factor.
