Infant botulism: Infant botulism occurs when spores are directly ingested by an infant consuming honey. If you eat honey you cannot transmit the spores via a kiss.

The spores may be transmitted via saliva after ingestion of honey. Rinse mouth wtih antiseptic mouthwash and brush your teeth after eating honey. Avoid saliva contact directly on the lips after ingestion of honey at this age. There is no fixed time period, it really depends on the potential presence of spores in the mouth.
