I was experiencing that 7 days ago, when i started a treatment with phenoxymethylpenicillin. now i only have white dots on tonsils left. is my strep still contagious? are the antibiotics not working?

Doctor can recheck: Tonsil infections from strep bacteria get well quickly on antibiotics. If symptoms continue, her doctor should recheck to see if there is an abscess in a tonsil or at the back of the throat. Sometimes, a person takes her penicillin and stops the infection inside the tonsils but still has strep bacteria colonizing the surface of the tonsils. Her doctor can decide if anything else needs to be done.
