A member asked:

Is blood pressure in the brain different than overall blood pressure? after getting mri results with abnormal finding, alot of symptoms of hypertensive cerebral angiography line up with an episode or two that i've had, didn't seem serious, felt "off"

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Angiopathy: This finding of hypertensive cerebral microangiopathy is the result of chronic elevation of systemic blood pressure and it's effect on the brain due to microhemorrhages in the brain. There can be cerebral microangiopathy not due to chronic systemic hypertension such as chronic ischemic changes. Reduction of cognitive abilities is a symptom of microangiopathy. Consult a neurologist for advice.
