A member asked:

For distance glasses i have to adjust my eyes to see close up clearly. is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Middle age sight: You are entering the age of what is medically termed presbyopia, - the inability of the eye to focus at near which diminishes from the 40s to the 50s. It is why drug stores have racks of reading glasses. If you need glasses for distance, then you will have to see your ophthalmologist who can prescribe a bifocal which will allow vision at far and near without taking off the eyeglasses.
