Probably mild myopia: 6/9 distance vision means you need to be 6 meters away to see something that is normally seen at 9 meters. It is equivalent to 20/30 vision. Assuming your eyes are otherwise normal, the cause is likely mild nearsightedness (myopia) - it is correctable with glasses. For some point of reference: 6/9 vision is better than what most municipalities require for a driving license.
