Back pain : I have seen many people with spinal pain. I can't tell you how important an in-person examination is needed to help you. More details are needed; the information about the accident and nature of the pain physically and subjectively. Back pain can come from bones, joints, ligaments, discs and can be affected by the function, alignment and movement and of all of these.

Spine expert: What kind of a scan? A CT scan will predominantly show bony structures. These are more commonly done in emergency settings. MRIs can be better scans at demonstrating disc issues and other non-bony issues. Pre know that not all sources of back pain show up on scans. Make sure to follow up with a doctor knowledgeable in the spine.
