A member asked:

I take 50 mg of metoprolol and 120 mg of sotalol for afib. is there any side effects of taking these to 2 together at those doses?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I have experience using these medications through the years but never together. Since they are both beta blockers. I consider this therapeutic duplication where 2 meds which treat the same conditions are used together. However, I'm certain that your treating physician feels that in your case the benefits outweigh the risks & any additive effects are beneficial in preventing/controlling your A Fib.
