How reliable is a transient elastography for detecting fibrosis and cirrhosis? 8 months ago hospitalised with severe alcohol hepatitis.. bloods now normal, elastic ratio 1.26. should i be worried? im now sober. thank you

Reliable: From the Journal Gut from an article from July of 2005 the benefits of Transient Elastography or Fibroscan were established. There is good correlation that the scan correlates with biopsy of the liver. Check with your Hepatologist. Elastic ratios can be different depending on technique used to measure. Not certain what 1.26 means.
