A member asked:

Hello! i have been having swollen joints. i got ana test done. it came back positive. can cervical cancer cause positive ana? i had a normal pap few years ago. it just came to mind since due for a pap again in future

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, cervical cancer does not cause positive ANA. A low titer ANA is not meaningful.
