A member asked:

I have a small bump above my armpit. it is tender to the touch. could it be malignant? possible cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bump on armpit: If the bump is beneath your skin it's probably a reactive lymph node. Do you have any sort of issue going on with that arm, a rash or small wound? Even a small thing such as an ingrown hair can cause a lymph node to expand. Very unlikely it's cancer. Most cancers are painless early on.
