Dental Care: As a general rule of thumb routine cleanings and minor treatment is perfectly safe during pregnancy. Unless you are in a high risk situation you should have no worries. The concern is if treatment is delayed and an infection occurs, complications may arise. Discuss your concerns with your OBGYN and dentist.

Fillings while preg: Generally treatment done during during 2nd trimester. Existence of infection (decayed tooth, gum disease, etc) poses risks to you and your child. These include low birth weight and/or pre-term delivery among others. Your Dentist will evaluate severity of your dental problem, and then either treat you, postpone treatment for a short time, or consult with your OBGyn. Wishing you a healthy baby!
