Pregnancy and Tx: Most dentists & doctors agree that all elective dental treatment should be postponed until after delivery. Any necessary dental treatment in healthy women, especially when it involves alleviating pain and\or infection or the likelihood of it, can be performed with some normal precautions. This includes local anesthesia (w\o epi), fillings and extractions. Have your dentist consult with obgyn 1st.

At the right time: Dental treatments during the first trimester and second half of the third trimester should be avoided as much as possible. These are critical times in the baby's growth and development and it's simply wise to avoid exposing the mother to procedures that could in any way influence the baby's growth and development. However, routine dental care can be received during the second trimester. Ask ur obg.

Yes: According to a new study recently published it should be ok. The pain meds have to be in a very narrow range, but it is better to eliminate infections in the mouth during pregnancy to help insure you have a safe pregnancy.
