Tell now: After 4 months your bp goal of 130/80 or less has not been reached. Unless you tend to have a fast heart rate, I don't regard beta blockers a good first line choice for bp treatment. If you have a tendency to rapid heart rates, the toprol dose can be increased for better bp control. Otherwise I feel more effective choices of medications can be made by your physician.
