Oral herpes: A quick social kiss (as opposed to sexual kissing) is very low risk for transmission, but not zero. Since you have longstanding oral herpes, there's a good chance your wife has it too and is immune to a new infection. There is no risk to your baby; even if you infected your wife, she can't pass it until symptoms develop. However, you must not kiss your baby until your cold sore totally heals.
