Some basics: Ringworm of the scalp is a deep infection within the hair roots. No topically applied cream/lotion will reach the depth required for a cure. It is not a worm but a fungus. Why anyone would use a worm medicine for this is confusing. These fungal infections can become secondarily infected by staph or strep. Cure may require a prescribed oral anti-fungal for a month along with an antibiotic.
