A member asked:

My 18month old daughter has a lump behind each of her ears. the one behind her right ear is slightly bigger. i'm not sure if they are sore because when i touch them she quickly moves her head away.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enlarged nodes: What you described suggests enlarged lymph glands. These may occur for trivial reasons such as dandruff. Try to keep her scalp clean with frequent shampooing. You may watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or she develop fever, or loses weight, you should see a doctor.
