Soap and water: Water has been used for thousands of years and is fine for general washing. Soap and water cleans more thoroughly and should be used when cleaning up bathroom stuff or sick people's stuff. However, one should not overwash, as that will cause skin problems. Just a gentle soap will help with washing away things like bacteria, viruses, or fungi. No worries. Save the alcohol for another day.
