Doctor can recheck: Doctor can recheck and listen to the lungs and chest to see if anything worse is going on, if the Duro-Tuss Linctus is not helping. Online, the ingredients include Salbutamol, which is an asthma medication. Asthma is an obstructive problem, where one has trouble breathing out. Sometimes asthma patients can also get a tiny air leak on the surface of a lung, leading to pneumothorax (collapsed lung).

Inhaled Albuterol: Rinse nasal passages with saline but for your shortness of breath due to asthma, Albuterol and an inhaled steroid may be started by your PCP. In liquid form the asthma medication contained in your cough preparation may lead to side effects, but if it resolves your symptoms continue and follow up with your PCP.
