A member asked:

I had gallbladder removed 3 wks ago and yesterday i had 3 attacks horrendous pain. is this normal to still get attacks after surgery? or is it possible that it wasnt even my gallbladder causing pain in the first place?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post GB surg.--2 wk.: Stone that remains in a bile duct after gallbladder removal surgery can cause severe pain, or jaundice.During gallbladder removal, it's rare but possible for surgeon to damage intestines. This may result in cramping. Some pain is normal following any surgery.usually take around 2 weeks to return to normal activities. After surgery, other complications include Infection, Bleeding & bile leakage.
