A member asked:

If the person has stomach pain from eosinophilic gastritis. will such pain respond well to ppi's/antacids due to reduction in gastric acid with their help. or the pain will not be relieved till the allergen is detected and eliminated?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, it will help: But to some extent, Proton pump inhibitor (PPI) treatment has been shown to improve the extent of duodenal eosinophilic infiltration in a patient with this pathology, but the best way to reduce inflammation and to relieve pain is antiinflammatory medication like steroids and removed the allergen.
