A member asked:

How do i treat a burn wound? i scorched my hand against my ovens red grill. the middle piece of the wound is open. can i apply bactroban ointment and cover it with a plaster like hydrofilm or should i leave it open?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: After first-degree superficial burns, twice a day moisturizing cream helps. Such patients may find that over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream twice a day for one week, can also help. After second or third degree burns (such as when the skin blistered or cooked), a doctor can examine to see what needs to be done so that the best healing can happen. One can also try a video consultation at first.
