Burning, red nostril. see ent in few days. gave me mupirocin. having reaction to it. should i use it? are all nose infections considered mrsa?

MRSA: Hi,
If you are having worsening of swelling and redness after applying mupirocin, you may be experiencing a side effect from it. Symptoms alone are non-diagnostic for MRSA infections, typically we rely on lab confirmation but if there is high clinical suspicion for it, sometimes doctors will go ahead and treat for it. You may need something more than just a topical antibiotic. Hope this helps
