My 10month old son has white ulcer looking sores at the back of his throat, he has been struggling to swallow and not wanting to drink much. what could cause this?

Usually viral: The mouth/throat is the most common portal for germs to enter the body. Most of these are viral & respond to supportive care with fluids & simple feeds. If the kid doesn't pee at least every 8 hrs he is getting dry & needs to be seen. Chilled fluids/ice chips/chilled applesauce are often helpful.
