Yes, if never had it: If you never had chicken pox before (or had a mild case when very young) you could get chicken pox from someone with shingles. The rash tends to be red spots with a little blister-like center that tend to itch. While generally mild in children it can be more serious in adults.Try Vit. C 1000 mg 3-4 times/day and the amino acid L-Lysine 1000mg 4-6x/day but a Dr. may prescribe a drug like acyclovir.
