A member asked:

I have frequent constipation, sometimes a yellow/orange jelly like substance will come out when i try to use the restroom. is this normal or a sign of cancer? it happens maybe once every couple months depending on what i eat.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dr. can examine: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber-plus-water, Miralax (polyethylene glycol), Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... Dr. should examine, and may prescribe helpful meds too.
