The sentinel node: That supraclavicular node is considered a worrisome signal for possible cancer. The idea is drummed into students early in medical school. Stable a year or not, it is associated with various forms of cancer. Mild anemia is just another warning sign. It is better to find out it is something minor than miss a cancer that can be successfully treated in early stages.

Iron deficiency: I agree with Dr. H. You may have had long-standing iron deficiency from menstrual bleeding. Your diet without iron supplements may have been inadequate to avoid anemia. A cbc and differential blood count usually spots serious blood disorders like leukemia. The oncologist will advise you as to whether the lymph node should be biopsied.
