Carotid arteries: I agree with Dr. G's suggestions. I also recommend checking your heart rate and blood pressure while you're sitting and then lying down to see if any abnormalities develop when you are supine. If one carotid artery is more prominent than the other, a vascular surgeon could evaluate you and carotid ultrasounds can be ordered to check for aneurysm..
