Cardiac: Flecainide is a class 1C antidysrhythim. Its mechanism of action is to alter transprot of ions across the cell membrane. Sotalol is a beta blocker with some capcity to effect heart electricity. Both drugs can cause prolonged QT.

Telemetry: You will be on a heart monitor in the telemetry unit and you will be able to ambulate as much as you wish in that ward. Flecainide and sotolol are proarrhythmics which can cause problems of their own and this is the reason for starting them while the patient is in the hospital on a heart monitor. If all goes well you will be released after a day or two.
