A member asked:

For about 10 days i've had a pulsating on the left side of my stomach. for the first 5 days, it was mostly continuous. now i see it eases up after a full bowel movement, but also might act up about an hour after i've eaten?

Pulsation: If the pulsation is synchronous with your pulse you are observing the largest artery in the body, the aorta, pulsating. The see is no other structure that actually pulsates. Intestinal contractions may be observed but don't have a rhythmic pattern. Check your pulse at the wrist or in your neck and see if what you observe is the aorta in your abdomen pulsating.
