Naegleria fowleri: Organism first noted in 1970 . It is a Protozoa which causes the following symptoms: change in taste, smell; headache, fever, nausea, confusion, lack of attention, hallucinations. Onset of symptoms 7 to 14 days after swimming in fresh water: pond or lake. CDC reported 32 cases from 2001 to 2010.
