A member asked:

Is lobular breastcancer visible on ultrasound? some sites say it is very very hard on mammogram. but is this true for ultrasound?

Mammogram: picks up calcifications, very small areas, both benign and malignant, easier than ultrasound. Density differences if small not so much. Ultrasound helps with palpable masses, to distinguish between solid versus cystic lesions. Briefly, each has advantages, but neither is perfect. MRI adds a dimension to the discussion in more difficult cases.

Lobular breast cance: it appears MRI is better than ultrasound ( which is like mammo) or mammo in detecting lobular cancer. it has not yet translated into increased life span but that may be for other reasons. See article below and discuss with oncologist /breast surgeon https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4499185/
