It depends: This is hard to know without seeing it and depends in part on what part of your hand the cut is as if it is in an area that moves a lot it's more likely to need stitches. You want to make sure the edges of the cut come together and you may be able to do that with Steri-strips, available at most pharmacies. If those don't keep it together get stitches, but need to do within 24 hours of the cut.
