45y premenopausal female, iron 190, TIBC 250, TSAT 76%, ferritin 65, RBC 3.6, Hgb 11.8, Hct 34%, MCV 95. Neg HFE, normal B12. Symptoms include fatigue, body aches, joint pain. Is it anemia or iron overload? Can you have both at the same time?
My iron is 42 ug/dL my ferritin is 15.9 ng/ml. My Hgb is 12.8 gm/ dL and Hct is 40.6% MCHC is 31.5 gm/dL and RDW- CV is 15.4% My APRN says this shows a moderate iron deficiency anemia. Yes? Or no? Please explain?
